"Thoughts of Elberta", Pastel, 24x36"

In 2014 - 2015 this piece won a Certificate of Excellence in the PSoA International Portrait Competition, a top award from the Pastel Society of America which was on view at the National Arts Club in New York, it was included in an invitational pastel exhibit which was on view at the Butler Institute of American Art and showed in the Women Painting Women - Texas Exhibition. It continues to win this year, as follows:

• Juried into the 28^th International Association of Pastel Societies Exhibition held at the Salmagundi Club in New York
• Received an Honorable Mention in The Richeson75 International Portrait/Figure on view October 21  -December 3 at the Richeson School of Art and Gallery in Kimberly, WI.
• It is a Finalist in the 12th International ARC Salon organized by the Art Renewal Center (artrenewal.org)

Received an Honorable Mention in the Pastel Journal's 18th Annual Pastel 100 Competition in the Portrait and Figure Category. Winners will be featured in the April 2017 issue of Pastel Journal.

Received the Allied Artists of America Award at the 44^th Annual Exhibition – Enduring Brilliance! organized by the Pastel Society of America and held at the National Arts Club in New York

Has been selected to participate in the Enduring Brilliance Traveling Show which is curated by The Butler Institute of American Art from the Pastel Society of America's Exhibition. Only twenty pieces were selected and will be on view at The Butler Institute December 2016 - February 2017 in Youngstown, Ohio.

At the end of last year, this piece won Honorable Mention in the PSoA Members Only Competition (Still Life) and recently won;

• Best of Show at the Marilyn Dickey Open 2nd Annual Juried Competition held at the Sugar Land Art Center and Gallery in Sugar Land, TX.
