Arlington:

Arlington Studio Group

Live Model Lab
Where: Creative Arts Center - 2360 Laughlin Dr. Dallas, TX 75228
When: Sundays from 1:30-4:30
Details: If you are looking for extended model sessions, this is perfect for you! This drop-in model session has figure poses (nudes) for three hours each Sunday for three weeks in a row, for a total of 9 hours on the same pose.

Friday Night Lights and Shadows
Where: Brookhaven College
When: Friday nights from 7-10 p.m.

Thursday Night Live
Where: Plano Art Association Gallery in Historic Downtown Plano.Address: 1013 15th Place # 105, Plano 75074. The gallery is adjacent to the Plano Downtown DART station.
When: Thursday nights from 7-10 p.m.
Details: Thursday Night Live is a community of portrait and figurative artist who gather each Thursday evening to improve their skills in painting and drawing. Although this is an open session, artists must contact Gene Dillard and discuss their interest and be persuasive of their commitment to benefiting from participating with the group. All skill levels are welcome, but prior experience or study will be important to benefit from the sessions. Thursday Night Live artists paint or draw from a live posed model that is clothed in typical attire or dressed as colorful characters. The sessions are comprised of one single pose per evening. Chairs and small TV tables are provided, but it is recommended that artist bring a portable easel if they need to use one.

Open Studio
Where: Forney Arts Council
When: Thursday nights from 7-9 p.m.
Details: Portrait drawing /painting, with participants sharing the cost of the model, which is $20 per session. (In other words, if there are 4 artists, each would pay $5.) Artists should bring their own easel if they use one, and their own art materials. The location is the church building diagonally across from Crumbzz Bistro, 212 S. Bois D'Arc.

Open Figure Studio with Live Model

Plano:

Thursday Night Live

When: Thursday nights from 7-10 p.m.
Details: Drawing and painting in any medium (no instruction). One, 3-hour pose; occasionally these will extend to multi-week poses. Models are typically posed in portrait-like settings. Often "character" costumes are also employed. The venue is inside an elegant gallery space. Although the space is well arranged, space is somewhat limited. Rockport:

Life Drawing Studio
Where: Rockport Center for the Arts, 902 Navigation Circle, Rockport, TX 78382
When: Wednesday nights from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Details: Come participate in two hours of structured studio time. Live model available for directed posing. Life drawing is open to all levels, but no formal instruction available. All wet and dry medias welcome. Easels available. Seating is limited. Please call to register.
